When people met Wren, they saw a slip of a girl who looked too delicate to be included in rough housing, dirty jokes or physically demanding labor. Her soft, shy smile and nearly flawless skin gave the impression that she wasn't meant to have a harsh life. She was a princess and carried on a nobility and grace that needed to be protected and sheltered. The long scar that ran down her left limbs did little to dissuade anyone otherwise.
Sean thought the same way until she made him stop at the side of the highway. There was a wreck at the side of the road, at least four cars deep and smoke was billowing out of one of the engine compartment. She was all action and orders as the dog started to bark frantically in the back seat and she was running towards the cars, trying to get people to exit them and move closer to theirs.
His reactions were dulled as he watched her with a slack jaw and stunned eyes, her body moving quickly and holding a strength that seemed to have been hidden before now. Her arms, back and legs were corded with wire taut muscle from years of riding, her voice sang brightly in the heavy sun and painfilled moans of the victims. He moved after a minute to help her as the sirens screamed towards them, just barely lifting an unconscious driver out of the car before the engine caught on fire.
She refused to give her name to reporters after the crash. However she did visit those who were in the hospital to make certain they were doing okay.
